Some department work is not one-and-done. It happens every week, every month, every quarter, or on another schedule. DeptOps keeps recurring operational work scheduled, assigned, and visible as it becomes due.
Common operational problems include:
DeptOps gives repeating work a defined schedule, clear assignment, and generated upcoming occurrences so teams can see what is coming due and what needs attention.
On Team, Business, and Organization plans, managers can create recurring work with a schedule, assignee, due dates, and optional related responsibility. Recurring schedules can be daily, weekly, weekdays, monthly, quarterly, yearly, or every N days.
DeptOps generates upcoming occurrences ahead of time so due work can appear in operational views. You can complete individual occurrences; future occurrences remain part of the recurring schedule. Edits can apply to a single occurrence or to that occurrence and future ones.
Recurring work can be assigned to a specific person or, by managers, to a department queue, giving teams flexibility in who takes responsibility for the work. Each work item uses one assignment target at a time.
You can optionally associate recurring work with a responsibility when you want ownership context. That link is optional.
People can see their assigned work and relevant department-queue work in My Work. On Team, Business, and Organization plans, the operations calendar provides another way to review upcoming work, and customizable home dashboard widgets provide additional operational visibility.
Recurring work can appear in Needs Attention when incomplete work is overdue with high or critical priority, or when incomplete work is blocked. Managers can also see additional operational exceptions on Team plans and above.
For example, a monthly operational review can move through DeptOps like this:
Recurring department work often continues indefinitely: monthly reviews, administrative checks, quarterly procedures, and routine department maintenance. DeptOps gives that ongoing work a schedule, an assignment, and a place alongside the rest of your department's operations.
For the broader operating model, see operations management software.
