Cookies Policy

How DeptOps uses cookies and similar browser storage to run a secure, reliable product.

Last updated: September 7, 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how LOB Labs LLC ("LOB Labs," "we," "us," or "our"), a Minnesota limited liability company with its principal place of business in Scott County, Minnesota, uses cookies and similar technologies such as local storage and session storage when you use DeptOps. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which browsers use to keep data needed for signed-in sessions, preferences, and short-lived interface state. In this policy, "cookies" may refer to these technologies collectively.

2. How DeptOps uses them

DeptOps currently focuses on essential storage needed to operate the product. We do not use third-party advertising or marketing-pixel cookies on DeptOps pages.

3. Categories we use

Strictly necessary / authentication (browser storage). When you sign in, DeptOps stores an access token in local storage so authenticated API requests can succeed as you move through the product. Related short-lived session storage may be used during multi-step authentication flows (for example, before multi-factor verification completes). Without this storage, core signed-in features cannot work.

Strictly necessary / authentication (HTTP cookies). DeptOps also sets first-party HttpOnly cookies required for secure session handling: a "refresh" cookie used to renew your signed-in session, and, when you choose to remember a device, a "trustedDevice" cookie used to recognize that device for multi-factor authentication flows. These cookies are not accessible to page scripts and are essential to keep accounts signed in securely.

Functional preferences. DeptOps may store interface preferences in local storage, such as theme selection, so the product can remember how you like the workspace to appear.

Product state. The application may use local storage or session storage to remember recent searches, list filters, or other in-product UI state so navigation remains practical during a session.

Billing provider cookies. If you start a checkout or open the customer billing portal, our payment processor (currently Stripe) may set its own cookies on its domains to process payment securely and prevent fraud. Those cookies are controlled by Stripe under its policies.

4. What we do not currently use

  • Third-party advertising cookies for cross-site ads.
  • Social media tracking pixels embedded for marketing attribution on DeptOps pages.
  • Non-essential analytics cookies that profile individual visitors for advertising.

If we introduce optional analytics or similar technologies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, provide additional notice or choices.

5. How long storage lasts

  • Session storage is generally cleared when you close the browser tab or window.
  • Local storage persists until you sign out (for tokens we clear on logout), clear site data, or remove it through browser controls.
  • The refresh and trustedDevice cookies are set with a maximum age of about thirty (30) days and are cleared or rotated when you sign out, revoke trusted devices, or otherwise end the related session, subject to ordinary cookie and backup handling.
  • Third-party billing cookies follow the retention rules of the payment provider.

6. Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site storage. Because DeptOps relies on essential storage for authentication and core product behavior, blocking all storage may prevent sign-in or cause features to stop working correctly. You can usually:

  • Sign out of DeptOps to clear the access token we store for your session and related authentication cookies we control.
  • Revoke trusted devices from your account security settings to clear remembered-device recognition.
  • Use browser settings to clear cookies and site data for the DeptOps domain.
  • Use private or incognito browsing, understanding that preferences and signed-in state will not persist.

7. Updates

We may update this Cookies Policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
