People & Departments
Maintain the people and department structures your organization uses to organize ownership and assigned work.
Solutions
DeptOps gives departments one place to organize people, responsibilities, ownership, assigned work, and what needs attention.
Departments carry ongoing responsibilities in addition to individual tasks. Someone still needs to maintain documentation, review access, complete recurring operational checks, keep internal processes current, prepare recurring reports, and manage departmental procedures.
When responsibility, ownership, and assignments live across spreadsheets, email, shared documents, and people's memory, it becomes hard to answer basic questions: Who owns this area? What is due? What needs attention right now?
DeptOps is built for ongoing department operations: keeping responsibilities, ownership, assigned work, and items needing attention organized in one place.
DeptOps brings the operational pieces of a department into one system so people, ownership, and work stay connected.
Maintain the people and department structures your organization uses to organize ownership and assigned work.
Define ongoing responsibilities for a department and associate primary and optional backup ownership so accountability stays visible over time.
Create one-time work, assign it to a person or a department queue, set due dates and priorities, and track it through completion. Managers can assign work to a department queue; people can take on work assigned to them.
On Team, Business, and Organization plans, managers can create recurring operational work so repeating activities are not recreated from scratch each cycle. Recurring work is not included on Free.
The dedicated Needs Attention page is available to department managers and organization admins. It can surface high-priority or critical overdue work and blocked work. On Team plans and above, it can also include responsibility ownership health issues and other operational exceptions.
Individuals see work assigned to them and their primary department queue. Department managers can switch to My Team to view work for people in their managed departments. Organization admins can use My Team for organization-wide visibility.
DeptOps keeps ongoing accountability separate from individual items that can be completed.
What are we responsible for?
What needs to be done?
Completing a work item does not remove the responsibility behind it. That distinction helps departments keep ownership clear even as individual tasks come and go. Learn more about responsibility management.

Department management software helps teams organize the ongoing operations of a department: who belongs to it, what the department is responsible for, who owns those responsibilities, and what work needs to be completed. DeptOps focuses on that operational picture rather than project timelines alone.
Project management software is typically organized around projects, tasks, timelines, and deliverables. DeptOps is organized around ongoing department operations. It separates Responsibilities (persistent ownership) from Assigned Work (things that need to be completed), so teams can manage work that continues beyond individual projects.
